Backdating of “Initial state” event in S-Log Recorder

When the crew needs to do some backwards reporting and to move the initial state event

Before you start to backdate your reportng, please check with your StormGeo Performance Manager/Shipping Support (shipping.support@stormgeo.com) or eventually with your Ship Manager Office, if you have the latest sLog Recorder software version and latest configuration file, imported on board your vessel.

The latest Config file is important to make sure you have all relevant equipment to be displayed in the software like AE, Boilers, Power Packs, Cargo Cooling systems, Tanks [etc.] correctly setup.

Once the above step is done. Please follow the instructions below:

• Step 1: with s-Insight | Log Recorder software open, go to the “Voyage” section, on the upper-left side

• Step 2: open the first voyage (usually botom on the list, if more than one voyage is present) by clicking on the pencil-shaped buton under the “Actions” column.

• Step 3: Upon entering in the first voyage information, please backdate the “Voyage begin time” to the date in December previous calendar year, to a time when your vessel was still in port conditions before the latest Departure (e.g.: if you had the last Departure of 2023 on Dec. 19th -> please choose “2023-12-19” (or a day before) as “Voyage begin time”).

PLEASE NOTE: The “Voyage begin time” must be set at least 1 minute BEFORE the “Initial state” event!

• Step 4: Add “Expected voyage end”

• Step 5: Click the “Save” buton, to retain the changes made.

Once the above is done, please go to the “Events” section of your s-Log Recorder:

• Step 6: Double click on the “Initial state” (or click on the pencil-shaped buton under “Actions” column) to enter the Initial state event.

• Step 7: Amend the time of the “Initial state” report, to 1-minute AFTER the date and time set in the “Voyage begin time” (see above Step 3). Alternatively, please see the information provided by email from your Performance Manager (StormGeo FPM Team) or StormGeo Shipping Support Team. Usually the software should automatically set the "initial state event" 1 minute after the last known event on the server, in such a case the time and date is then automatically filled in / suggested by the software.

EXAMPLE: If you need to backdate the Initial state to the last “Departure” of your vessel in 2023 and this event happened on Dec 19th at 14:06 LT:

->  (under “Voyage” section) You must set as “Voyage begin time” at least the 2023-12-19 at any time before 14:00 LT.

Then:

-> (under “Events” section) Amend the “Initial state” event to a time when your vessel was still in port -> (e.g. 2023-12-19 at 14:01 LT)  Please beware to amend/fill out all ROBs, cargo and location for this day and time.

• Step 8: Click on “Check” and then “Save”, to retain the changes.

Once the above is done, resend this Initial state event ashore from the mail shaped buton on the top-right corner of the s-Log Recorder

After this, please continue reporting with the normal event sequence, as follows:

e.g., after the “Initial state” there must be:

1. “Noon – In Port” (if any),

2. “Departure”,

3. “Begin of Sea Passage”,

4. “Noon – At Sea”,

[etc.] …
